Before moving on I want to point you to a series I produced while in my previous role as EngageMedia Executive Director. The Pandemic of Control highlights the impact of Asia-Pacific government policies on privacy, free expression, censorship, and more, and asks why ‘progressives’ did so little in response to such repression.

Writers recount their experiences from Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Australia - for the most part places that were very little heard, and often naturally disinclined to ‘trust the authorities’ when lectured to by Western liberals et al.
